Shalom and welcome to Beit Ha Torah. Beit Ha Torah is a Messianic Synagogue that was formed to serve to needs of the Messianic Community in Cecil County and the surrounding areas. Formed in 1995, we originally met in a home until we needed a larger building more suited to our needs. In 2000 we moved to a larger building on RT.40 in Elkton, which is where we are still located today.

Beit Ha Torah is dedicated to community and education. We firmly believe that without a strong community that is educated and actively pursuing Torah we are not fulfilling G-d’s call on our lives and the lives of the Jewish people. With this in mind we make sure that there are many opportunities for us to come together as a community and have fellowship. We meet every Shabbat, Rosh Chodesh (New Moon) and of course all of the Festivals. We also have many activities each year that are designed to either help us learn or practice our faith, such as trips to the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC or practicing Tzedakah by taking food to those less fortunate. We also have times just for fun, such as trips to Hershey Park, camping trips and other things as well.

Beit Ha Torah also serves as a place of education for our community and local churches in our area. We have a variety of Adult Education classes throughout the year that are designed to challenge our community to make their faith active. The classes also are used to help those in the church gain a better understanding of the Jewish People and also of their faith. We offer Hebrew classes on a variety of levels, classes on Judaism, classes on Torah and Mitzvot and others.

For those interested in home schooling their children, Beit ha Torah has an umbrella school within the State of Maryland. We did this so that you as parents would not have to register with a church to home school your children. The response for the program has been very encouraging and is available for all members.

Beit Ha Torah also has a sisterhood which without their help many of the fundraisers and other activities would not get off the ground. Thank You Ladies!!
